Teampall nan Crò Naomh (Church of the Holy Blood) is a 13th-century chapel ruin perched on the rocky coastline of the Isle of Lewis. From above, the site reveals more than medieval history — the outlines of crofts running to the sea and the parallel ridges of lazy beds etched into the land speak of a more recent past, while wind turbines on the horizon support present-day communities. These patterns in the land speak of survival, adaptation, and a deep relationship between people and place.
